State Amateur Qualifier #5 – Mountain Dell

Today’s Utah State Amateur Qualifier at Mountain Dell Golf Course (Lake) brought out some great talent, with ideal scoring conditions and a beautiful mountain backdrop setting the stage for a competitive day of golf.
Josh Stauffer and Randy Hardy both carded impressive rounds of 4-under-par 67, earning co-medalist honors and leading the field in a tightly contested qualifier.
Stauffer’s round was defined by a hot start on the back nine, where he rattled off three birdies in his first five holes. He remained steady throughout the day, finishing with five birdies and one bogey to post 67.
Hardy came out firing with four birdies on the front nine, setting the pace early in his round. Despite a tough bogey on the par-5 14th, he held steady coming in and posted a solid 67 to earn co-medalist honors.
Both players have officially punched their tickets to the 127th Utah State Amateur Championship, scheduled for July 7–12 at Logan Country Club and Eagle Mountain Golf Course.
Congratulations to Josh, Rawson, and all the other qualifiers from today’s event. We look forward to seeing them compete in one of Utah’s most historic and prestigious amateur events.
